ORIGIN & SOURCING:
We've been working with Oro Molido since 2015. They are multigenerational coffee producers with farms (fincas) in several regions in Colombia. Finca La Sierra is in Northern Colombia in the Antioquia Region.
Why We Love This Coffee: The Geisha varietal is a highly sought-after arabica coffee known for it's unique and complex flavor profile including floral, fruity, and tea-like notes. Originating from Ethiopia, it gained prominence after being introduced to Panama, where it achieved global recognition. Every year, Geisha coffees top the list of the most expensive, and highest scoring coffees in the Cup Of Excellence auctions.
Oro Molido has a small lot dedicated to this varietal and we were fortunate to snag a few bags this year. We have been thrilled with it on the cupping table, and we're excited to share it with you. Beyond this unique and tasty coffee, the folks who grow the coffee are awesome too: Their Rain forest Alliance certification highlights their commitment to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and forest communities. They also created a non-profit foundation to improve development opportunities for children and young people that live in rural coffee-growing communities. Good coffee from good people doing good things!
