ORIGIN & SOURCING:
This coffee is a collective lot from the 142 members of the Idiwili AMCOS (co-op) in the Songwe region (Mbozi District) of Southern Tanzania.
The Idiwili AMCOS was founded in 2016, and at the time only received home-processed parchment coffee from its members. They quickly realized the potential to produce high quality, tasty coffee and in 2019 purchased a Penagos pulper and built some drying tables in order to produce fully-washed coffee. This co-op is small, only producing 420 60kg bags of coffee a year, but they are committed to growing and producing the tastiest coffee possible. They are hoping to upgrade their facility with new fermentation tanks and additional drying tables, and eventually a warehouse to store their coffee before it's taken to the dry mill.
We source this coffee with the help of our friends at Atlas Coffee Importers.
